Stromboli (Eolian Islands, Italy): (18 Apr) The lava flow continues to be alimented, but effusion rate has apparently dropped and only the upper portion of the flow seems currently active. The seismic signal shows strong eruption tremor and continuous rockfall signals.

Etna (Sicily, Italy): (18 Apr) The 11th paroxysm from the New SE crater occurred as expected today. As during the previous eruption, the build-up phase with increasing strombolian activity was relatively long. The peak phase itself when activity culminated in lava fountains was comparably short.

Miyake-shima (Izu Islands): A strong earthquake swarm, presumably caused by a magmatic intrusion, has started Wednesday at Miyake volcano in the Japanese Izu Islands.
On Wednesday alone, JMA recorded 136 earthquakes with magnitudes up to an earthquake of magnitude 5.6, which was widely felt in the region.

The quakes’ hypocenters are clustered in a NNW-SSW trending area about 10 km west of the island, at depths of 5-15 km.

Nevado del Ruiz (Colombia): (18 Apr) A magnitude 4 earthquake occurred last night under the volcano, marking the so far largest event during the ongoing earthquake swarm, which in turn is likely a result of a shallow magma intrusion at depths of 5-9 km SW of Arenas crater. The earthquake was felt by many inhabitants of the area.  – Volcano Discovery
